In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, FMC’s Congress to Campus program is engaging the next generation in conversations about democracy, leadership, and civic trust.

America 250

In conjunction with America 250—the nationwide commemoration of the United States’ 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026—FMC aims to deepen the educational impact and public engagement of Congress to Campus programs throughout 2026.

A250 Programming

Incorporate a short “America 250 Dialogue” segment within each Congress to Campus program:

15–20-minute discussion on how Congress and citizens have shaped American democracy.

Could feature guiding questions like:

  • How has Congress evolved since the Founding?

  • What does civic participation look like today?

  • How can we renew trust in democratic institutions for the next 250 years?

Host an America 250 public event as the community component of your CtC program.

Examples:

  • A town hall on “The Future of American Democracy.”

  • A voter registration event

  • A joint event with a local high school about youth participation in democracy
